10 Days of Full Cultural & Language Immersion

Local Host Families

Local Guatemalan families are woven into every part of your stay — guiding your excursions, sharing their food, taking you through the market, and giving you a real window into daily life on the shores of Lake Atitlan.

Natural Language Growth

Beyond the Spanish classes built into your stay, let real life be the classroom. Walk through the market, chat while you're learning to make chocolate, connect with the kids you're serving — the language just happens.

Homeschool Connection

Share the experience with other families using Homeschool Languages — people who get the lifestyle, the learning, and the adventure. Expect new friendships that outlast the trip.

Everything You Need is Included

We've handled the logistics so you can focus on the connection and the culture.

Accommodations

Lake-view lodging in San Juan La Laguna for the duration of your stay. Rooms are comfortable and well-situated, giving your family a relaxing home base right on the shores of Lake Atitlan.

Local Transport

All shuttle transfers are included — from your arrival in Guatemala City straight through to your departure. Getting around town is part of the fun, with tuk-tuk tours woven right into your daily adventures.

Guided Activities

From weaving with Abuela Concepcion to kayaking the lake, guided market tours, Spanish immersion classes, and hands-on chocolate making — every activity is thoughtfully led so your family can dive in and enjoy without the planning.

Excursions

A sunrise ride to the Indian Nose lookout, a full-day boat tour around the lake with swimming at the San Marcos blue water nature reserve, a visit to a ceramics factory in San Antonio, and textile shopping in Santiago Atitlan. These are the highlights you'll be talking about for years.

Daily Interaction with Local Families

Your family will be personally paired with a local Guatemalan family throughout the trip — sharing meals, exploring their favourite spots, and being welcomed into their home for coffee and sweetbread. It's the kind of connection you simply can't get from a resort.

On-Ground Guidance

Your hosts are with you every step of the way. From orientation on day one to a dedicated WhatsApp group before you even arrive, you'll always have someone to turn to — whether it's a question, a hiccup, or just a recommendation for where to eat.

Please Note: International flights (La Aurora International Airport in Guatemala City) and personal dinner expenses are not included in the package price.

Learn With Purpose

This program is for families who are ready for more than a vacation. More than sightseeing. More than checking a box.

It is designed for families who want:

To be genuinely welcomed into a community and give something back to it

Children who see the world beyond their own normal — and grow from it

An adventure that stretches your family in the best possible ways

To leave Guatemala better than you found it — and return home better too
