"Oh my goodness! They're speaking Spanish now!"
Homeschool French Curriculum for Kids — Level 1
A French home isn’t built from a screen…
It’s built from you.
Here’s what makes Homeschool Languages®’ French curriculum different: You’re not handing your kids off to a screen or a stranger, you’re learning right alongside them!
You teach, you apply it in your relationship and home as you’re both learning, and the new language becomes something your family uses in real life, not just something your child studies.
That’s when it clicks! And it clicks fast.
You’ll never wonder what’s next! The curriculum guides every step: what to grab, when to play it, even what to say (AND how to say it!). Just open to today’s page and go!
What's included?
The Textbook
Your open-and-go guide, scripted line by line! It tells you what to do, exactly what to say, and puts the new language in bold with pronunciation right there on the page. No prep, no planning, no pre-reading. Just open to today's page and start playing!
Pierre the Puppet
Meet Pierre, he doesn't speak English ;) Parents, his role is scripted right into the lessons. Watch your kids eagerly soak up more vocab just to be able to communicate with him better!
Storybooks
Cozy stories that follow right along with the lessons! Your kids will light up hearing the words they've been saying all week, and spotting them on the page too!
Game Boards
A double-sided game board, two spinners, bingo, menus, matching-foods cards, pawns and a die. We don't drill here, we play! Every game uses the same phrases your kids need in real life, so playing IS practicing. And they'll beg to play again!
Playing Cards
Food, places, clothing, feelings, actions, colors, numbers, and more! These aren't flashcards to drill, they're PROPS. Put the shirt on Alberto, choose which food to "eat," catch him sneaking off to the park! Kids remember what they touch, move, and laugh through.
Geography and Culture Glimpses
It's easier to love what we understand. So we add in beautiful highlights of a the French culture, from art to foods, and from history to modern music!
A Full Year of French
Box includes a full level of Spanish for the entire family that can be loved and used again and again! No subscription, you own it for life.
Phrase Card and Menus
Your four most-used phrases on one handy card, plus bingo and menus for playing restaurant at home! Stick the phrase card on the fridge and watch the language pop up all day long. Every item is kid tested (and baby-proofed for the tag-alongs!)
Frequently Asked Questions
Not at all! In fact, most of our families start with little to no experience in the language they're learning.
Homeschool Languages® was specifically designed for parents who aren't fluent. Every lesson is fully scripted, with pronunciation help, audio support, games, songs, and clear instructions for exactly what to do and say.
You aren't expected to be the expert. You're simply learning alongside your child—and that's where the magic happens. ❤️
Absolutely! Our curriculum was created for families, not individual students.
Many parents teach children of different ages together during the same lesson. Older kids often help the younger ones, and everyone participates at their own level. Physical products include materials for family use, and digital versions can be printed for your immediate household.
This is probably the number one thing we hear from parents.
Most language programs ask children to memorize vocabulary words, complete worksheets, or watch videos. But kids learn to speak by actually using language with people they love.
At Homeschool Languages®, you learn together. You play games, sing songs, read stories, and use simple phrases throughout your day. The goal isn't perfection—it's making the language part of your family life.
That's when kids start speaking naturally.
Nope!
Everything you need to complete the curriculum is included in your purchase. We occasionally suggest common household items for games or activities, but there are no required add-ons.
Workbooks, storybooks, and habit units are wonderful extras if your family wants more practice, but the core curriculum is completely stand-alone.
Nothing!
There are no subscriptions, memberships, or monthly fees. You purchase the curriculum once, and it's yours to use with your family.
We wanted to create something simple, affordable, and stress-free for homeschool families.
Level 1 includes 88 lessons, and most families complete three lessons each week.
That pace allows plenty of time to review, play, and naturally use what you're learning throughout the week. Many families also use workbook pages or storybooks on their lighter days, but that's completely optional.
Go at the speed that works best for your family!
Our Level 1 curriculum is designed primarily for children ages 4–10.
That said, language learning is a family activity around here! Younger siblings often join in, and older children can absolutely participate as well. The activities are flexible enough to adapt to different ages and learning styles.
Level 1 focuses on the kinds of conversations families actually have every day.
Your family will learn greetings, emotions, wants and needs, simple commands, colors, clothing, locations, meals, household vocabulary, numbers, and so much more.
Children also enjoy songs, games, short stories, movement activities, and early reading practice—all while building confidence speaking the language naturally at home.
Most lessons take about 15–20 minutes.
Some days your family may want to keep playing or practicing longer, while other days you'll simply complete the lesson and move on. The goal is FUN and little wins that add up, not hours of language study!
